"MX5 Romania" is an NGO dedicated to Mazda MX-5 enthusiasts, with the goal of popularizing this iconic model in Eastern Europe. The club brings together fans who share a common passion for the Miata and organizes events that celebrate the spirit of this legendary car.
Our design studio was responsible for developing distinctive visuals for "MX5 Romania." We illustrated 20 cars belonging to club members, capturing the essence of each Miata in unique visual details. Additionally, we created customized flags and promotional materials for the club's events, contributing to increased visibility and the strengthening of the NGO's visual identity.
Summary
Our design studio took on the exciting challenge of crafting distinctive visuals for "MX5 Romania." We meticulously illustrated 20 cars owned by club members, ensuring each Miata was depicted with unique and intricate visual details that captured its essence. In addition to these illustrations, we designed custom flags and promotional materials for the club's events, enhancing both the visibility of the club and the overall strength of the NGO's visual identity. Our work aimed to elevate the club's presence and create a cohesive and recognizable brand image that resonates with its community.
Challenge
We faced the challenge of selecting the 20 most distinctive cars from the Miata club, a task that required great attention to detail. We carefully chose cars that not only stood out visually but also showcased unique and ingenious tuning. Each car's personality had to be thoughtfully summarized and incorporated into the illustrated style, ensuring we captured the essence of every vehicle. In addition, we had to develop an illustration style that would set the project apart from the abundance of car illustrations already available. Our goal was to create a design that was bold and clear, yet still original and aligned with current trends, delivering a fresh and standout visual identity for the club.
Solutions
We decided to go with a bold illustration style, featuring thick strokes and vibrant colors that would catch the eye while maintaining a modern aesthetic. The details are subtle yet representative, highlighting the unique aspects of each car without overwhelming the design. There are four distinct Miata MX5 models—NA, NB, NC, and ND—that we carefully matched and illustrated for each vehicle. Every member of the club owns one of these models, which they have thoughtfully customized, making each car a true reflection of the owner's personality and passion. Our illustrations aimed to capture these personal touches, ensuring that the artwork celebrated both the car and its owner’s dedication.
